Morning Rays came through the window gave us a wake up call for our journey. We had our breakfast and started the journey by 8.30AM. Our main target was to climb 5th peak (The Highest peak) in Namunukula Mountain range.

I my self last visited Sigiriya 11 years ago and I planned to visit the site many times, yet failed. The event organized by lakdasun.org to climb Pidurangala was tempting for me and my wife as we really wanted to explore Sigiriya.

At first you might think where the heck this place is if you are unaware of the history of King Kashyapa. Sigiriya is the utmost tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and Pindurangala is right next to it which is 2KM away from Sigiriya entrance, yet neglected by most of the travelers.

Neduntheevu or Neduntivu (Tamil: நெடுந்தீவு), also known by its Dutch name Delft, is an island in the Palk Strait, northern Sri Lanka. This island is named as Delft in the Admiralty Chart unlike the other islands in the area which are named with their Tamil names. The island’s area is 50 km² and it is roughly oval-shaped. Its length is 8 km and its maximum width about 6 km.

One Special Trip to Kandy

We checked lot of reputed hotels in Kandy before the wedding and most of them we were able to book with discounted rates through my sister in law who was in hotel trade. Yet we were curious about a less popular hotel with a very good view towards Knuckles Range. Ultimately we found the exact hotel we needed “Kandy Panaroma Resort”.

Galboda / Galaboda waterfall (30M)

Galaboda is a small village locate in between Watawala & Nawalapitiya. The main access to the village is the railway track. There is a beautiful waterfall higher than 30m, but the width ranges from between 3m and 6m, depending on the season with a distance of 1-2km from the railway station, known as Galaboda waterfall.

This is a continuation of another trip and the original trip is to Deniyaya and on the way back we stayed the night at Unawatuna and in the morning we discussed about the plan for the day and one crew member suggest we go to to Dondra Lighthouse and we accepted it. I was so happy cause Me and my wife went to Point Pedro the furthest point of Sri Lanka from north and now we were going to visit most southern point of Sri Lanka.

Sri Pada is the only mountains in the world where four major religions get together and worship.Adam’s Peak is an ancient pilgrimage that is considered sacred by Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims. It is a conical mountain 2,243 meters high. It is believed that Lord Buddha during his third visit to Sri Lanka placed his footprint on the summit of this sacred mountain.

This was a very long trip and we drove 1200Km in 4 days First we went to Katharagama and Then Nuwaraeliya and then Trincomalee. So i have started route map from Nuwaraeliya. Road condition is very good till you pass Habarana but there are some road constructions going on Kantale to Trinco… Specially they are straitening the “Yaka Wanguwa”.
