Although we planned to use public transport as our transportation method, later arranged a van from Colombo to Moray Estate which saved lot of time. All the credit goes to our good friend Nirmal for arranging the van although he couldn’t join due to unavoidable circumstances. Mate, we missed you through out the journey.
We experienced a dry weather even its off season. Yet it was very cold at night we couldn’t sleep because of the cold and around 2AM we got up and stayed near Uda Maluwa. It was a godly. We experienced the tranquility of this scared place. That day I took a decision to climb Adams Peak every year in off season. There was another Nade who climbed up using Hatton route.
Sri Pada is the only mountains in the world where four major religions get together and worship.Adam’s Peak is an ancient pilgrimage that is considered sacred by Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims. It is a conical mountain 2,243 meters high. It is believed that Lord Buddha during his third visit to Sri Lanka placed his footprint on the summit of this sacred mountain.
