We only had few hours to have a nap before getting up early to plan our next day activities. We were determined to get the best of the next day and planned to visit Jodu Ella in Thawalamthenna, Huluganga Ella in Huluganga town, Thaliya Watunu Ella in Alakolla Estate and Sembuwatte Lake in Mathale. Morning we visited Raxagala in Dolosbage range. Many waterfalls formed from the natural springs in Dolosbage range. Afternoon after the rewarding Raxshagala hike we planned to visit the legendary Asupini Ella. Last day we climbed Raxagala, which was an extremely rewarding hike to Dolosbage Range. We went to bed early as our main itinerary (hike to top of Knuckles Mountain) was scheduled on following day. Got up early and was able to get in to Mathale train from Gampola station.

Early morning we woke up with the sound mind thinking of the success of the previous day hike to peacock hill. Our original plan was to visit Knuckles on that day, but change of weather pattern gave us opportunity to visit Raxagala/Raxshagala in Dolosbage mountain range. We were determined to visit Dolosbage mountain range when we saw it from Mahaweli Maha Seya.

After a quick hike to Totupola Kanda we were planned to do the Diyagama – Dayagama Trail. On our way back we were able to see Sripada(Adams Peak) in a distance from Pattipola Entrance and I say, it’s a very rare opportunity. It was inspiring and was a good luck sign for the hike.

After admiring the small but stunning beauty of Surathali Ella we continued our journey towards Haputhale. The sky was cloudy and while we were climbing Haputhale Mountain, mist came from nowhere and felt we were in a movie. Though we enjoyed it gave a hard time to the driver. Anyway after reaching Haputhale we took Haputhale – Boralanda route to reach Walimada. The road was in average condition and easily can be managed using a car.

After enjoying the views of the 9th highest mountain we continued the journey towards Mipilimana to do the adventurous hike to Conical hill. We searched for Conical Hill for so long and thanks to Viraj we finally found it last night on the meter map and we abandoned Hakgalla hike to to this wonderful hike.

It was the second day of a wonderful trip and our main target was for the day was driving to the top of One tree Hill (Single Tree Hill) to enjoy the views and to do a hike to Conical Hill which is a extreme hike, other than the locals nobody has done it before. As we had 2 hikes lined up we had to hurry and we left after breakfast around 8.30AM.

The Wangedigala and Wangedigala Kanda are two different peaks and we were not aware of that. Thanks to Mrs.Sera and her daughter we were able to spot the two peaks and were able to learn the difference. Wangedigala is a rock platform on the left side of the mountain and it’s like a stage and when it looked down from the resort we saw the shape of a “Wangediya”. Most people confused about Wangedigala and Wangedigala Kanda.
