We only had few hours to have a nap before getting up early to plan our next day activities. We were determined to get the best of the next day and planned to visit Jodu Ella in Thawalamthenna, Huluganga Ella in Huluganga town, Thaliya Watunu Ella in Alakolla Estate and Sembuwatte Lake in Mathale. It was a long wait near Balummahara finally Nissan Vannete arrived with the pleasant face which always had a smile; dear friend Viraj. Alagalla hike was a hike I was looking forward to do since last year but always the weather condition was the limiting factor. I left early morning from Yakkala and arrived at Mawanella. After enjoying the views of the 9th highest mountain we continued the journey towards Mipilimana to do the adventurous hike to Conical hill. We searched for Conical Hill for so long and thanks to Viraj we finally found it last night on the meter map and we abandoned Hakgalla hike to to this wonderful hike.

I thought of visiting the National Zoological Garden Sri Lanka for so long and for the last 10 years i couldn’t fix a date. So this time i took a sudden decision and visited the zoo. I went there early and many carnivorous cages were empty and i asked an official regarding this matter and he informed me that the animals will be back to cages after cleaning.

Our target was to reach Uduwara Falls and Nagadowa Falls and normally you have to take Devils Staircase road from the beginning of the track but Ranjith took us in a short cut which is a steep climb through tea estate which joins devils staircase on the way. It was tiring but saved lot of time.

Next Day was a big day for us as any of us haven’t been to Wilpattu National Park. Early morning we got up and headed to the park. Mr Chaminda Dissanayake, the owner of Kahala Jeep Safari gave us a great help arranging the best guides and the safari. I can strongly recommend him to anybody interest in a Wilpattu Safari.
