We started the journey 7.20AM and we used Wewala road and on our way we could witness the spectacular scenery. Near Wewala tank we saw a dog sounding almost like a fox and it was weird. As it seen the dog was the guard dog of the cattle of cows.

At first you might think where the heck this place is if you are unaware of the history of King Kashyapa. Sigiriya is the utmost tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and Pindurangala is right next to it which is 2KM away from Sigiriya entrance, yet neglected by most of the travelers.

The small bus was crowded to avoid seen even our own shoes. It moved forward just a little bit faster than a bullock. In the middle of the journey, we were confused bit whether we had passed the junction we intend to get off. As a security step we had already asked the conductor to remind the same when we reached our destination.

We started the journey from Boralanda and traveled through Boralanda – Ohiya Road which was an interesting drive; road was in good condition most of the time and for few kilometers there is a nice drive through turpentine forest.

The Wangedigala and Wangedigala Kanda are two different peaks and we were not aware of that. Thanks to Mrs.Sera and her daughter we were able to spot the two peaks and were able to learn the difference. Wangedigala is a rock platform on the left side of the mountain and it’s like a stage and when it looked down from the resort we saw the shape of a “Wangediya”. Most people confused about Wangedigala and Wangedigala Kanda.

Most people don’t realize Sri Lanka has yet a similar kind of fortress type historical places still beneath the shades of jungles. Nuwara Gala (Close to Pollebedda off Maha Oya) and Dimbulagala (16 km off Polonnaruwa) are two such places.
