Flying Barb(රැවුල් දණ්ඩියා)

Flying Barb (Esomus thermoicos) Occurs in ponds and ditches and can tolerate very muddy water during droughts . More common in muddy pools than in flowing water . Feeds on insect larvae, small worms and crustaceans. Spawns semi-adhesive eggs usually on floating or marginal vegetation. In sinhala this fish known as රැවුල් දණ්ඩියා, තටු දණ්ඩියා
